THAT'S HAUTE #4: What I'm Wearing for Summer
We're doing swimwear, silver jewelry, and socks in sandals in this month's edit :)
💌 That’s Haute is a monthly (ish) compilation of recommendations, diversions, and ideas for the month ahead. 💌
As I mentioned in an issue last month, I’ve been wanting to change a few things on this newsletter. One of those things includes how I write my monthly round-ups. Coming up with the concept of ‘That’s Haute,’ as it turned out, was way more fun than actually executing these issues every single month.
Because writing this newsletter is my hobby, and because I dedicate so much of my spare time on this project, it doesn’t feel right to force myself to continue writing about something that I’m not really enjoying.
Another aspect informing this change is how the thrift landscape has changed in New York City. I had the idea of including a good second-hand shop, vintage store, or thrift spot in every issue of That’s Haute, but to be honest, there just aren’t that many good ones left. I don’t want to recommend things on this newsletter that I don’t love and that means I have to reconfigure this whole segment.
So, from now on, the format will be more loose. I also won’t publish these every month if I don’t have really have anything interesting to share. I don’t want to contribute to putting out content for the sake of putting out content. Instead, you will just receive a regular issue of Haute Mess. Anyways, here’s this month’s issue of That’s Haute.

What’s haute right now:
This video of Kate Moss in Greece in 1994 that I can’t stop thinking about.
A couple of weeks ago, Tangerine (one of my favorite concept boutiques in the city) threw a sample sale with the brands Coming of Age and NU SWIM. I ended purchasing the Daisy top and high contrast cut bottom in the colors in Manzanita/Lake and Fish/Black. I have been itching to get my hands on those two sets so I’m eager for summer to begin so I can break them in!!
I’m also itching to get my hands on more jewelry. I’m particularly into surrealist, silver jewelry like the Silver Rose Earring by the Danish brand Corali, the Venus Ascent Spiral necklace charm, and the Nautilus Comb by Sophie Buhai. (It retails for a whopping $12,000.00 though).
For some reason, I’ve always felt very out of my element and very self-conscious whenever I’ve worn sundresses in the past. But, sometimes when it’s really hot outside, you just need a good sundress to let the breeze in. So, this summer I want to try and trick my brain by applying something I like to something I don’t like. More specifically, I’m thinking of getting a couple of sundresses in patterns like plaid and gingham (like Après Studio’s Martini Ruched Cotton Dress). I’m also keeping my eye out for Cecilie Bahnsen dresses on Vestiaire Collective and the RealReal in case I need a ‘safer,’ more neutral option for summer.
And lastly, there are socks in fisherman sandals. Now, this is something I can 100% get behind. I’m a sentimental dresser and I remember wearing little frilly socks in my fisherman sandals when I was a kid. So, that’s what I’ll be wearing on my feet in the foreseeable future.
Okay, that’s all for now. Thank you so much for reading. I would love to hear what you’ll be wearing for summer!! Let me know in the comments. I’m all ears!
Great post 💖🌞
Nice! I can finally break out my Jaws tube socks and pair them with my fisherman sandals. 🦈
