My Favorite Spots on the Lower East Side
A guide to my favorite Lower East Side shopping and dining spots
Dear Hauties,
Today, I have a NYC guide for you featuring my favorite Lower East Side boutiques, cafés, and hang-out spots. When I was living in New York (full time), I LOVED hanging out on the Lower East Side. I would spend most of my days in the city strolling around the neighborhood, because (a) it’s close to my boyfriend’s work, which meant we could meet up and have lunch together, and (b) it’s home to all the coolest downtown stores where all the edgy fashionistas hangs out, which meant I could get my style fix of the day.
So, here’s a mini guide to the Lower East Side curated by yours truly…

🍸 Eat, Drink, & Chill
CitizenM, 89 Bowery, New York, NY 10002
CitizenM is a boutique hotel with a killer rooftop bar. If my memory serves me correctly, my friend and I only paid around $24-$28 for two glasses of wine. That's a steal for a nice glass of wine on a rooftop bar with a view like that in Manhattan.
Dimes, 49 Canal St, New York, NY 10002
Dimes is a small, über cool café with an off-the-beaten-path menu. The place is furnished with niche Nordic designer furniture (think Alvar Aalto and HAY) and the servers are edgy and moody–but kind. Although it is a little bit on the pricier side, it’s a nice spot for a late breakfast or lunch.
Le Dive, 37 Canal St, New York, NY 10002
Le Dive is where it’s at! This intimate French-inspired bar is located in the trendy Dimes Square area of the Lower East Side. Here, you’re met with an effortlessly cool atmosphere in which you can sip on your cocktail in the company of the edgiest, most stylish crowd in New York City. It’s a little bit on the pricier side, but it’s totally worth it.
PUBLIC Hotel, 215 Chrystie St, New York, NY 10002
On the border of the Lower East Side and Chinatown, we have my go-to work spot on the Lower East Side–the PUBLIC Hotel. PUBLIC Hotel is a sleek and modern boutique hotel offering so much more than just a bed to sleep in such as a lobby that serves as a hub of all the cool people in the area working and drinking their coffees. They also have a pretty amazing rooftop bar with a skyline view.
